New Sanctuary Movement
From Uncovered
Far-left group of religious organizations and others who generally oppose deportations and who are trying to pretend that today's economic refugees are comparable to the past refugees involved in the original Sanctuary Movement of the 1980s. They "will enable congregations to publicly provide hospitality and protection to a limited number of immigrant families whose legal cases clearly reveal the contradictions and moral injustice of our current immigration system while working to support legislation that would change their situation".
Their main legal counsel, Peter Schey, has a series of links to the Mexican government. They've received uncritical coverage from a variety of sources: newsanctuarymovement.org/press.html
